A Marriage of Technology and Nature

LivingLab is an interdisciplinary experimental project operating at the intersection of design, science, and art. The platform serves as a communication tool for research, workshops, and exhibitions on the contemporary relationship between humans and nature. The project is the result of the work of Magdalena Małachowska and Katarzyna Kupińska and aims to bring together representatives of all disciplines in the search for a sustainable relationship between nature and science.

SCOPE: ART DIRECTION | web design

The main part of the project was developing the visual language of LivingLab and creating a website.

A series of promotional posters formed part of the project's communication.

Additional graphic elements include simple, hand-drawn illustrations and lettering.

The LivingLab graphic design was primarily intended to be minimalist, clean, and subtle, providing a breath of fresh air in the overstimulated reality we find ourselves in.

The combination of the grotesque Geist typeface with the serif Gambarino gives the identity a delicate elegance.

The color palette is based on subtle grays and whites, which at first glance don't differ significantly from each other. The colors are arranged from darkest to lightest, creating a understated gradation.
